PREM A – Paradise Knights on course again
On paper, the Prem A season looks like it will be all about the Paradise Knights once again but they may find the going a little tougher this time.
Paradise Knights won all 20 matches last season and have retained their three big guns in Danny Porter, Karl Schaefer and Aaron Delvendiep. If new recruit Ben Hooper gels in the side, and Porter and Schaefer play every match as they did last season, they may be capable of not only going back-to-back but having another unbeaten season...
We're going to remember the night Dave Howe hit a 167 Peg then just minutes later, Adam Leek hit a 170 Peg! While all that was going on, Karl Schaefer finished 591 in 13 darts (that's a 136 avg!) by starting the leg with consecutive 180s. This was a wild night of darts.
Let's not forget our winner though. Kosta Koutrikas had just won the Dennis Nolan Medal at the Presentation Night, and then reeled off 6 wins in the Handicap Singles to claim the $100 prizemoney.
This coming Winter Season will be the first time we present the "Ron Miller MVP Award". The announcement was made at last night's Presentation Night where Ron Miller was present to accept the honour. Ron has been an icon of darts in South Australia and Australia for many decades. He was elected to the SADA committee back in 1982 and awarded SADA life membership in 1993.
