Everything clicked for The Outsiders as they defeated Paradise Pigs 15-3. Rohan Perkins hit Max Pegs (10) and Rhys Gurd nailed a 160 peg (equal highest of the season). The Suvners 15-3 win over All Nighters put them 1-and-a-half wins clear of their nearest side in 5th. Second-placed MVPs needed plenty of bottle to defeat second-bottom Cobras Black 10-8. Adam Leek (MVPs) won all his singles matches, pegged 140, and had a 12-dart leg. Seven of the Top 10 averages for the week came from the Paradise Knights v Toon Squad clash that saw the top-placed Knights win 14-4. Black Knights got their second point of the season in a 9-9 draw with Toon Squad. Mark Carter carried the load for Toon Squad with Max Pegs, while Kosta Koutrikas (Black Knights) had an equal best 13-dart leg. Lee Cole played a lone hand for the MOA Dingoes, defeating four Usual Suspects on his way to Max Pegs and the night’s best average of 22.42. Aaron Jensen (Usual Suspects) was not far behind him with another Prem A worthy 22.27 average. A round to remember this week with the most 180s and Ton+ Pegs thrown in one round since Prem B started more than 12 months ago. The EIGHT Ton+ Pegs was even better than Prem A managed this week. The top two sides both had big wins - Usual Suspects (15-3 over Dartaroos) and Blackhawks (14-4 over Hornets). Robert Fleming (Usual Suspects) had the round’s shortest leg (17 darts) while hitting Max Pegs and close to a 20 average. Dart Vaders skipper Pete Russo and finals star Sam Zacharopoulos returned in the Vaders 11-7 win over the Hustlers. The Vaders leapfrogged the Hornets into 5th place. Rebels and MOA Dingoes kept their spots in the Top 4 with well-executed wins over the Dartsholics and Loonies respectively. League average leader Lee Cole (MOA Dingoes) topped the averages again (20.77) while hitting Max Pegs.
The teams making up the Top 4 were the four winners which has put them at least 1.5 wins clear of the six other teams chasing them. Luke Bottrell (Cobras Gold) hit three Ton+ Pegs, including a 140 peg that he followed with a 142 peg straight after. Both legs were in 18 darts after losing the first leg. Adrian Spain (Cobras Gold) broke the season record for shortest leg with an 11-darter. Paradise Knights gun Karl Schaefer saw his unbeaten run came to an end at the hands of Rhys Gurd (Outsiders). Gurd threw 4 x 180s with a 24.6 average, which was bettered only by Schaefer, who had 27.57. Paradise Pigs and All Nighters could not be separated after the Pigs won the last three matches to finish 9-9. Mark Edwards starred for the Pigs with a 24+ average and 3/3 singles wins, while Andrew Conroy (All Nighters) provided the big highlight with a 132 peg.
Emma Brown had a perfect night winning 4/4 matches to help the Rebels hold off the fast-finishing Hornets, 10-8. Ian King (Hornets) claimed his third Ton+ peg of the season, which leads the league, and threw the night’s shortest leg (15 darts). The MOA Dingoes are into the Top 4 after their dominant 15-3 win over the Hustlers thanks to Max Pegs from Mick Ronan and Lee Cole. Cole also threw the round’s best average with 21.78, while teammate Eddie Trezise had a sensational 138 peg. Blackhawks have reaffirmed their claims to being the second best side in the league so far after a 13-5 win over the Loonies. The Usual Suspects did everything expected of them in a 12-6 win over Dart Vaders. Dartsholics earned their first point in a 9-9 draw against the Dartaroos.
The Suvners put their hand up as a serious premiership contender with an eye-catching 16-2 win over the Outsiders. All four Suvners averaged 21 or better and Grant Bottrell landed the biggest peg of the season so far with a 160. The Paradise Knights’ 11-7 win over All Nighters was the closest game the Knights have had so far but Karl Schaefer (Knights) held onto his undefeated record and had the night’s best average with 27.66. New recruit Luke Bottrell won 4 singles with a 24.14 average as his Cobras Gold defeated MVPs 11-7 and climbed into 3rd on the ladder. Last season’s minor premiers, Toon Squad, said ‘don’t forget about us’ with an impressive 13-5 win over Paradise Pigs. Aaron Sims' (24.3 average, 4 singles wins) first game this season made all the difference for the Toon Squad. Cobras Black got their breakthrough win by defeating Black Knights 13-5. Jacques Wadey led the side with a 24.5 average and Sharon Sin shone with three singles wins.
It was the Usual Suspects’ biggest flex of the season when they knocked off their most likely challenger so far, the Blackhawks 11-7. Matt Manoel (Suspects) topped the averages for the league with 21.32. The Hornets have taken the Blackhawks spot in 2nd after a huge 16-2 win over Dartsholics. Ian King (Hornets) took his unbeaten record to 12 out of 12 wins (in singles and doubles). With Dart Vaders captain Pete Russo overseas, John Gallagher and Paul Charlton have successfully filled the void, and this week’s 14-4 win over the Loonies may be what they need to get their premiership tilt going. The Rebels took down the Hustlers 11-7. Kylee Tucker (Rebels) had her highest peg in at least two years with 125 while Hustlers captain Ron Andrews started his season throwing left-handed due to injury. MOA Dingoes look like they’ll be a genuine finals contender this season after a comprehensive 15-3 win over Dartaroos.
Special mentions this week for Danny Porter (27+ average, Max Pegs, and new average leader), Karl Schaefer (still undefeated and now high peg leader after his 146 checkout), Matt Williams (25+ average, Max Pegs), and Mark Edwards (12-dart leg equalling the season’s best). Outsiders are reversing the trend of last year and sitting pretty in third. Paradise Pigs won their first game 10-8 with three wins in the last round, and despite being bottom, Cobras Black have hit more pegs than the four teams immediately above them.
Congratulations Dartaroos for your first (proper) win ever – you did it tough last year but kept improving and are getting the rewards now. Other very necessary mentions to Andrew Harney and Heather Brow for hitting their first SADA 180s, Matt Manoel hitting top form with a 19.89 average, Robert Fleming remaining the only undefeated player after three matches, and MOA Dingoes for getting their first win of the season with an even team effort that did not rely on their star recruit. The Hornets and Dartaroos moved into the top four this week for the first time this season.
Paradise Knights continued their early assault on SADA’s Premier A with a commanding victory over Paradise Pigs that saw all four Knights feature in the round’s top 10 averages. Gary Kennedy (Pigs) knocked off three Knights and had a 25+ average. MVPs seem to have the strongest claim to be the Knights’ biggest challengers so far. The reigning Prem A champs took down Toon Squad 14-4. Suvners christened their new home at Morphett Arms Hotel with an 11-7 win over Cobras Black. All Nighters defeated Black Knights 12-6 thanks to their third leg form – they won 8 of the 10 deciding legs. Cobras Gold had a strong 11-7 win over Outsiders at a sweaty Maid of Auckland. All the Cobras contributed two or three singles wins that countered the 25.57 average (highest of the round) from Outsiders skipper Rhys Gurd.
Dart Vaders and the Rebels played out Premier B’s first 9-9 draw of the season, which suited both sides as they remained sitting in the Top 4. The Usual Suspects moved to the top of the ladder after their comprehensive 16-2 win over new side Dartsholics. All four Blackhawks players managed at least two singles wins to thwart another dominant performance from MOA Dingoes’ recruit Lee Cole (Max Pegs, shortest leg, highest average and highest peg). The Hornets welcomed back their highest average player, Ian King, and he played a big part in the Hornets getting a 13-5 win over the Hustlers. King had the round’s third best average with 19.16 while winning his three singles. Dartaroos have their first official win thanks to a Loonies forfeit.
Paradise Knights made an emphatic return to Premier A with three marquee players all averaging 24+. Aaron Delvendiep had Max Pegs while Karl Schaefer had the best average by anyone in SADA since May 2024 with a 27.08. Cobras Gold also threw well with the top five averages coming from this match but the Knights prevailed 14-4. Outsiders showed that their second season is likely to be very different to their first with a strong 12-6 win over All Nighters. Toon Squad new recruit Noah Halliwell won the final match of the night to take the Toon Squad to a 10-8 win over Cobras Black. Jacques Wadey had Max Pegs in his first match with Cobras Black. The former Paradise Knights, now known as Black Knights, had good samaritans Diesel Owen and Brett Selga fill in at the last minute for them and they managed a 9-9 draw with Suvners. MVPs started their title defence with an 11-7 win over Paradise Pigs.
The Usual Suspects showed why many rate them as the team to beat in Prem B this season with a strong win over the Hornets. Aaron Jensen managed Max Pegs for the Suspects and teammate Rob Fleming had a 14-dart leg. Dart Vaders had to work hard for their 10-8 win over an improved Dartaroos. Sam Zacharopoulos (Dart Vaders) started where he left off last season with another 4/4 singles wins, an 18+ average and a huge 143 peg. A new name stood out on MOA Dingoes team sheet with Lee Cole making an emphatic return to SADA after 100 x 180s previously. He had a 22.38 average and Max Pegs but it was not enough for the Dingoes to beat the Rebels, going down 11-7. Two new sides The Loonies and Dartsholics played out a close-one with The Loonies utilising their state juniors experience to win 10-8. Blackhawks started their SADA career on top of the table with four consistent performers, defeating the Hustlers 14-4.
