Prem A is looking very tough this coming season, and for the first time in a little while, the Paradise Knights aren’t the defending champions.
Paradise Knights will enter the next season as runners-up instead of champions. They will be looking to reclaim the crown in the next season. They are still the team to beat.
Parafield Bulls Hitters are looking to go back-to-back after winning their first title by beating the Knights. The team will be looking different this season replacing Alex Brackstone and Bryan Kennedy with Lachie Wileman and his dad Dave Wileman. They will still be a force in Prem A.
Toon Squad have gotten a brand new name - Checkout Chokers. They finished in the Semi Finals (4th in the ladder), going down to Suvners who are not continuing in SADA, so that might give them a chance to move up.
Outsiders are back with the same crew. I think they could reach the finals this season especially if they get plenty of games from Rhys Gurd (8 last season) and Jacques Wadey (11 last season).
Fire & Ice returns after a very tough previous season with a similar line-up. If this team gels together, they can potentially win multiple nights this season.
Dart Vaders are up in Prem A after a very successful and undefeated Prem B season. They may have a tough time adjusting to the higher level but they are well and truly good enough to be there.
Alex Brow’s phantom betting odds for Premier A Winter Season 2026
Paradise Knights - $3
Parafield Bulls Hitters - $4
Checkout Chokers - $10
Outsiders - $15
Fire & Ice - $30
Dart Vaders - $40
The team that has dominated this division for the past two seasons by not losing a regular season game – Dart Vaders – are now up in Premier A, meaning Premier B will take on a whole new look for the 2026 Winter Season.
Another former Prem B champion in Black Knights have folded, which leaves just two sides with recent Prem B finals experience – Blackhawks and Usual Suspects. These two sides shape as the favourites to stand out through the regular season then fight it out for the title come finals time.
The other two spots in the finals are anyone’s guess. On their best nights, Maid of Auckland Dingoes and Rebels have been highly competitive match-ups for the top teams of Prem B, while the two teams that have come up from Prem C, DartsHolics 1.0 and Lion Kings, both have enough experience and potential to fit well into the middle division.
Let’s go through it team by team…
In the season just gone, Usual Suspects finished below Blackhawks after the minor round but turned the tables on them in a cut-throat Preliminary Final to advance to the Grand Final. They would have likely started outright favourite but news has slipped out of the loss of Matt Manoel for the season, which has put them back to level in betting with Blackhawks. You’d be silly to bet against Aaron Jensen’s chargers though, especially given their 60% win rate in their 10 SADA finals.
Blackhawks have been a consistent force in Prem B since Mark Deacon assembled the side leading into 2025. They’ve finished 2nd, 4th and 4th in their three seasons (after finals) and it’s hard to see them finishing anywhere but the top 2 this season. They have three 18+ average players in John Powell, Paul Hughes and Andrew Harney and assuming they are all regulars once again, the Blackhawks will be serious contenders.
Maid of Auckland Dingoes settled into Prem B well last season having been promoted as Premier C champs the season before. Their three wins included taking the scalp of eventual grand finalist Usual Suspects. With the reigning Ron Miller MVP Medallist in their side, Lee Cole, there’s no reason they can’t continue to push the top 2. Finals should be a bare minimum for the Dingoes this season.
Rebels have won three matches in the past two seasons in Premier B but will fancy their chances of making finals this season given there are two sides coming up from Premier C. Emily Jarvis was a revelation for the Rebels last season, averaging 18.92 and winning 60% of her singles matches. That percentage seems certain to rise this season as the 14yo continues to improve. With all the state team experience the Rebels bring, we wouldn’t be surprised to see the ladies feature in the Top 3.
This is where things get interesting in Premier B as we welcome up the Premier C champs, DartsHolics 1.0. This team of five are all playing weekend Darts SA tournaments semi-regularly with Sharon Sin also featuring in the ladies State Team. This seems to have given them a big upwards lift and if they continue on that trajectory, there’s no reason they can’t match it with the likes of Blackhawks and Usual Suspects. Don’t be surprised if they make finals and win at least one final.
Lion Kings bossed the Premier C regular season last season, finishing on top of the ladder but lacked a little firepower when it came to the finals, bowing out in straight sets. They are an even team of 15-17 average players, making them dangerous against even the best in Prem B if they’re not at the top of their game. The Kings have recruited well, picking up Bryan Kennedy from Parafield Bulls Hitters in Premier A. If Kennedy and co. can claim some scalps of the high average players, they will win enough matches to challenge for finals.
Daniel Bryant’s phantom betting odds for Premier B Winter Season 2026
$3 Usual Suspects
$3 Blackhawks
$15 Maid of Auckland Dingoes
$20 Rebels
$20 DartsHolics 1.0
$25 Lion Kings
Prem C returns with 8 teams for the first time, instead of 6 from the first two seasons. These odds are based on the past two seasons and what is known of the new teams.
Madhouse are heavy favourites in the upcoming season with them finishing as runner-up the past two seasons. In the next season, the team will have the focus on doing one better for Prem B for 2027.
Hornets are second favourites in the next season with their wealth of experience at SADA. They finished 4th last season but were unlucky against Madhouse last season. I think they will get as far and maybe even further this season.
Hustlers is the team to watch. They didn’t win any games in the previous season and only two games in the season before that. I believe this is the breakthrough season (somewhat like the Madhouse season in late 2025). Greg, Simon and the team will be a force to face this coming season!
Croydon Crew is the first of four new teams in Premier C for Winter Season 2026. Their captain Paul Sommerville comes from Prem B (he was Usual Suspects Captain in their Premiership season) and have Adam Sumner who averaged 17 in his two games in Prem B last season.
Beers & Spears were unlucky to finish just outside of the finals last season. They got a handful of wins, even drawing with the eventual winners, DartsHolics. They will be much better this upcoming season with the experience (even though they were a returning team).
DartsHolics maintain a spot in Premier C as DartsHolics 2.0! This team won’t be as strong as the promoted DartsHolics 1.0 in Premier B but they do have some strong players, particularly Raphael Ling who seems likely to average among the best in the division. I believe this team, who also includes Ryan, Kevin, Gwendy and Tony among other players, will be contenders to reach the finals.
The third of four new teams in SADA is 26ers, who are a mix of players from Black Knights in Prem B and primarily WADA players. They will start with Paul Bell from Black Knights as captain, however most likely won’t finish the season with him as he is leaving Adelaide. If the team gels and works hard, they can possibly do some great things in Prem C.
The Bogeymen are the fourth of four new teams and are all new to Darts from Golf! Their captain Cameron Fatchen is reportedly averaging close to 20 in his online matches at home, and if that is maintained at SADA, he will be a very tough player to beat. I think this team can get a few wins this season.
